Amy Beach short biography

Amy Beach is one of the most distinguished among American woman composers. Amy Beach started composing at the age four, and played her first piano recital at seven. Amy Beach studied piano, harmony and composition in Boston. In 1885 Amy Beach made her highly acclaimed debut with the Boston Symphony. Amy Beach’s concert tours in Europe earned her great reputation and admiration there. Amy Beach was a prolific composer in many genres: choral, orchestral, piano, vocal and chamber music.
