Frederic Duvernoy short biography
A very important French composer, horn player and flutist, Frederic Nicolas Duvernoy was principally responsible for the establishment and development of a French school of flute and french horn playing. Duvernoy enjoyed a major position as a virtuoso performer during the period. Duvernoy assumed the position of a principal player at the Opéra in Paris. Duvernoy was admired and sponsored by Napoleon and his successors.
