Charles Griffes short biography
A noted American composer, Charles Tomlinson Griffes had his professional music studies in Europe. In 1907, Griffes was appointed music director at the Hackley School in New York. A fine stylist, Griffes wrote a great number of remarkable compositions that earned him reputation of one of the most distinguished American musicians of his generation.
