Pietro Locatelli short biography

A great Italian violin virtuoso, conductor and composer, Pietro Antonio Locatelli was a student of Corelli in Rome. Locatelli easily earned the international fame as a virtuoso performing all over Europe. In 1729, Locatelli moved to Amsterdam, where he was a fashionable teacher and founder and conductor of an amateur orchestra.
