Foote short biography
A distinguished American composer, Arthur William Foote was a music student at Harvard University, where he was elected the director of the Harvard Glee Club. As the Foote’s name as a composer enjoyed a significant public and critical acclaim, Boston Symphony Orchestra began performing and commissioning his works. Foote’s orchestral poem, In the Mountains became increasingly fashionable and was performed by Boston Symphony at the Paris Exposition in 1889.
